Al hodeidah: The Governor of Al Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, inaugurated today a number of service and development projects in the districts of Al-Jarahi and Jabal Ras at a cost of 2,307,966,000 Riyals, funded by the local authority and several supporting entities and funds.
According to Yemen News Agency, in Al-Jarahi district, the Governor, accompanied by the Deputy Governor for the Southern Square Districts Affairs, Muthanna Al-Hadi, and a number of executive leaders, inaugurated the Obstetric Emergency Building project at Al-Jarahi Rural Hospital at a cost of 268,503,000 Riyals, and the concrete paving project for the road linking the entrance of Al-Jarahi to the Al-Jarahi - Al-Adin road at a cost of 598,453,000 Riyals.
Following the inauguration, the Governor reviewed the implementation works, engineering supervision, and operational mechanisms of the Obstetric Emergency Building and the readiness of the road, which were implemented by the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance with funding from the Local Council and under the supervision and funding of the Public Works Office in the governorate, at a total cost of 866,957,000 Riyals.
In Jabal Ras district, the Governor inaugurated 22 projects in the fields of education, health, roads, water, and paving. These included completing schools, establishing health units and centers, executing rural road construction and paving works, alongside water projects involving drilling wells, installing solar power systems, and constructing tanks, pumping, and distribution networks, at a cost of 1,441,000,000 Riyals, funded by the local authority, the Al Support Fund, Rural Water, and community initiatives.
Governor Atifi laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the Jabal Ras Summit Water Project, which is being implemented by the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance in the governorate under the supervision of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects.
During his review of the completed projects, the Governor listened to an explanation about the level of achievement and the impact of these projects in improving basic services in the targeted areas, and the importance of their implementation according to priority needs, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens and enhancing the ability of local authorities to provide more stable and effective services.
He affirmed that the inauguration of these projects translates the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to care for rural districts, noting that the implemented projects represent a new boost in improving basic services and meeting the needs of citizens in the targeted areas.
The Governor explained that the roads, water, health, and education projects will contribute to enhancing local development and facilitating access to services. He pointed out that the local authority is working on distributing projects according to the priorities and needs of each district.
He indicated that cooperation between the local authority, supporting entities, and community initiatives has contributed to implementing qualitative projects in more than one field, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in identifying needs and continuous follow-up of implementation works to ensure the success of projects and achieve sustainability.
Governor Atifi stressed the importance of maintaining the projects and conducting periodic maintenance to ensure the continuity of their services. He directed the Public Works, Health, and Water offices to follow up on technical performance and submit reports to ensure project sustainability and achieve the desired service and development goals. He considered these projects, under the exceptional circumstances the country is going through, a qualitative leap to break challenges and meet the service needs of citizens, praising the role of the Public Works Office, the Executive Unit for Projects and Maintenance, the funding and supporting entities, the executing parties, and the efforts of technical and engineering cadres and community initiatives in accomplishing these projects.
