Hajjah: The Governor of Hajjah, Hilal Al-Sufi, launched a market and price inspection campaign, as part of the preparations for the blessed month of Ramadan. During the launch at the governorate center, attended by Deputy Governor Adel Shalli, and directors Mahmoud Wahban and Issam Al-Wazzan from the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Governor Al-Sufi assessed the supply situation of essential food commodities and their availability in the market.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Al-Sufi emphasized the necessity for merchants to adhere to the price list and boycott American and Israeli goods, along with companies supporting them. He urged the Office of Economy and Industry to intensify market inspections, control prices and weights, and prevent any manipulation or monopolization of basic commodities. This initiative is aimed at protecting citizens and achieving supply discipline, particularly with the approach of Ramadan.
Wahban indicated that the campaign, which will run until the end of Ramadan, aims to monitor prices and ensure compliance with price disclosure. He affirmed the commitment to encourage local products and allocate sections for them in malls and commercial outlets, starting from the governorate center, Abs, Al-Mahabisha, Najrah, Mustaba, and Kushar. Wahban also mentioned monitoring boycotted goods and bakeries, as well as raising citizens’ awareness to purchase bread by weight.
Wahban confirmed the dedication to controlling pricing violations and referring violators to the competent authorities for action, urging citizens to cooperate with the office, report any violations, and support efforts in this regard.
