Taiz:Governor Ahmed Al-Masawi has expressed readiness to open safe roads to alleviate civilian suffering and ensure the delivery of humanitarian supplies across all districts. He emphasized the importance of reconciliation and overcoming divisions.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Masawi highlighted that several routes are currently open and secured. These include Khadir-Naqil Al-Salw-Al-Ain-Al-Mawasit; Mocha-Al-Wazi’iyah-Al-Kadha-Al-Nashmah in Al-Ma’afer; and all roads leading to Jabal Habashi, Al-Shamayatayn, and Samie districts. These routes facilitate civilian transport and the movement of trucks carrying essential goods such as food, medical supplies, and fuel to Taiz city and other districts.
Al-Masawi welcomed the Yemen Petroleum Company's commitment to supply fuel at official prices to all districts, including Taiz city through the Najd Qasim-Al-Bireen route. Fuel deliveries to the Al-Hujariyah districts have already commenced in the past two days.
He also mentioned that the Central Bank of Yemen has designated exchange points in newly liberated districts, urging traders and exchange companies to inform the bank about their currency exchange needs.
The governor assured that roads leading to central Taiz remain open and secure under his jurisdiction, despite a closure announced on October 2, 2026, which he claimed exacerbated humanitarian challenges. He reaffirmed the openness of the Aden-Al-Turbah-Najd Qasim-Bir Basha-Taiz city route and the Al-Hawban-Al-Qasr-Al-Kamb-Hawd Al-Ashraf route, committing to facilitate and secure their usage. He urged the other side to open roads, emphasizing their critical role as lifelines that should not be impacted by conflicts or narrow interests.
Al-Masawi further stated that coordination is ongoing with Hayel Saeed Anam Group and other food companies to ensure the delivery of essential goods through their distributors in Taiz city and other districts, leveraging warehouses in Hodeidah or Aden. He assured that his administration is prepared to secure the passage of these goods as a humanitarian obligation.
He called on all parties to prioritize public interest, foster reconciliation irrespective of political affiliations, and ensure the movement of civilians and delivery of food, medicine, and fuel throughout the governorate to prevent bloodshed and alleviate suffering.
