Hajjah: A meeting held on Tuesday in the Hajjah governorate, led by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Dr. Radwan al-Rubai, focused on the mechanisms for advancing the Production Expansion and Contract Farming Programs for grains and legumes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included ministry undersecretaries and other officials who examined joint efforts to broaden the cultivation of these crucial crops. The initiatives are designed to secure food availability, bolster resilience against external aggression, cut down on import costs, and achieve self-reliance. These goals are consistent with the directives from the Leader of the Revolution, the Supreme Political Council, and the Government of Change and Construction's agenda.
Minister al-Rubai underscored the necessity for robust coordination among various agencies to facilitate effective program execution. He also highlighted the importance of collecting data on farmers and organizing them into field schools to offer agricultural guidance and enhance services.
Ammar al-Hareb, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, noted that these programs are prioritized in the ministry's plans and serve as a significant metric for assessing the performance of directorate directors.
