Hajjah: The Local Council in Hajjah Governorate, led by Secretary-General Ismail Al-Muhaim, convened to discuss the expenditure and progress of various projects for the year 1446 AH. These projects span several sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, and social development.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included a review of revenue collection from Muharram to Dhu al-Qi'dah 1446 AH. The council addressed reasons behind deficits in local and shared resources and deliberated on potential solutions.
The council examined a report from the Social Affairs Office detailing activities in cooperative societies, care for orphans and juveniles, and productive family initiatives. The report also covered psychological support programs, case management, and strategies to combat begging.
Discussions highlighted the role of zakat and endowments in supporting orphanages and emphasized the need for economic empowerment programs for needy families. The council proposed establishing a permanent market for local products to aid economic growth.
Further, the council advocated for expanding memberships in cooperative societies and encouraged community involvement in cooperative work. A committee will be formed to assess and restructure struggling cooperatives.
The education sector was also reviewed, focusing on the past academic year's achievements and plans for the current year. Challenges such as displaced teachers were discussed, with proposed solutions to improve sector performance.
The Local Council expressed support for the armed forces and the revolutionary leadership, reaffirming their solidarity with Gaza and commitment to defending national sovereignty. The council emphasized the importance of continued military training and enrollment in the "Al-Aqsa Flood" campaign.
