Ibb: The Rural Water Projects Authority branch in Ibb province, in collaboration with the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, has handed over three crucial water projects in Badan District to administrative bodies for their operation.
According to Yemen News Agency, these projects include the rehabilitation and implementation of three solar-powered systems, funded by the Central Emergency Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, at a total cost of 41 million Yemeni riyals.
During the handover ceremony, Majid Al-Shami, Director of the Rural Water Projects Authority branch in the province, highlighted the importance of these water projects as a priority for the province's leadership. This initiative aligns with the national vision and the authority's phased plan to provide drinking water to rural areas suffering from water scarcity and the absence of surface and groundwater wells.
Al-Shami stated that the implementation of these projects aims to improve water provision and alleviate the hardships faced by citizens. By rehabilitating water projects and equipping them with solar energy systems, the need for purchasing fuel, which has become costly due to aggression and blockade, is eliminated.
He affirmed the ongoing efforts to implement rural water projects and praised the role of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development. The projects serve over 13,000 people in the targeted areas. Al-Shami also urged those responsible for the projects to preserve their assets, properties, and revenues, and to adhere to the authority's mechanisms and standards.
