Al-Jawf: Head of Al-Jawf Appeal Prosecution, Judge Wadah Al-Qurashi, inspected today the conditions of prisoners under the authority of the governorate’s prosecution in criminal cases, at the central correctional facility in the capital.
According to Yemen News Agency, Judge Al-Qurashi explained that the visit was in line with the directives of the Attorney General and aimed at reviewing prisoners’ cases to facilitate the release of eligible inmates in light of the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Judge Al-Qurashi, accompanied by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammed Al-Badri and the Director of the Prisons Department at the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Jihad Ghathaya, reviewed procedures related to the cases of prisoners awaiting trial, investigation, and implementation.
During the visit, the testimonies of 70 prisoners were heard concerning their cases and the duration of their imprisonment. A directive was issued to release those who qualify, including individuals who have completed three-quarters of their sentence and do not have outstanding obligations to others.
