Al-jawf: The Ministry of Health and Environment conducted a workshop focused on improving intersectoral coordination to tackle dengue fever in Al-Jawf Governorate. The event brought together 34 representatives from various sectors, including health and environment, local administration, rural development, youth, sports, transport, public works, interior, endowments and guidance, as well as the Agricultural Union and the Military Medical Services Department. The workshop aimed to review the epidemiological situation of suspected dengue cases before and after interventions in the region.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop also addressed the roles and responsibilities of different sectors in combating dengue fever. Discussions included the mosquito life cycle, transmission, and the importance of community involvement in prevention efforts. Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud highlighted the crucial need for coordination among relevant authorities to contain and prevent the spread of dengue. He emphasized the importance of strengthening proposed roles and the coordination framework with practical recommendations.
Dr. Abdulwahab Saad, Health Ministry Undersecretary for Health Administration and Quality Control, outlined the objectives of the workshop, stressing the necessity for coordinated efforts to enhance dengue prevention, control, and ultimately eliminate the disease. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ali Hadban commended the organization of the workshop and emphasized the importance of raising community awareness about dengue prevention. He noted that combating this disease is a collective responsibility that requires joint efforts from both authorities and the community.
