The health and environment office in the capital: held an event on Sunday to mark the 12th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution. At the event, member of the Prisons Committee Kamil Ghathaya praised the cooperation and efforts of the Capital Health Office in providing medical and healthcare services to inmates of correctional facilities and detainees at detention centers in the capital.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ghathaya stated that the September 21 Revolution was significant in rejecting domination and aspiring to restore national sovereignty and decision-making, emphasizing cultural and moral values. Director of the Health Office, Dr. Mutahar Al-Morouni, described the revolution as a popular movement advocating freedom and independence, emphasizing its humanitarian and Quranic values. He extended congratulations to the armed forces for their successes in defending the country's sovereignty.
Dr. Al-Morouni further stated that the revolution reinstated Yemen's independence in decision-making and ended foreign dominance. He urged the public to enhance awareness, strengthen internal unity, and remain vigilant against what he termed as criminal plots threatening the country's security and stability. He also commended the resilience of the health sector amid challenges, conflict, and blockade, and its continued provision of healthcare services in collaboration with relevant authorities.
Highlighting the cooperation between the Health Office, the Prisons Committee, and the Ministry of Interior's Preventive and Curative Medicine Department, Dr. Al-Morouni praised their joint efforts in delivering healthcare to inmates and detainees. The event included honoring Prisons Committee member Ghathaya, Director Dr. Akram Al-Madani, and his deputy Dr. Mohammed Qalalah for their contributions to healthcare services in correctional facilities and detention centers.
