Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity, sometimes to heavy, across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicated that thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by hail, are expected in Sa'dah, Hajjah, Amran, Al Mahwit, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Al Hudaydah, and the Tihama Plain.
Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are anticipated in parts of the governorates of Al Dhale'e, Al Bayda, the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, western Al Jawf, and Socotra. The center reported that the total rainfall over the past 24 hours, as measured at the meteorological station in Sana'a, was 29.4 mm.
Scattered rains of varying intensity also fell outside the scope of monitoring stations in parts of the governorates of Taiz, Amran, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Al Jawf, Socotra, and the Tihama Plain. The center has issued warnings to citizens to avoid flood channels and valleys during and after rainfall, and to be cautious while crossing over ground bridges during floods and lightning strikes. Drivers are advised to follow safety measures to prevent accidents.
The center also cautioned drivers about poor visibility due to low clouds and rainfall, particularly on mountain roads.
