Hodeida: The 17th Free Eye Medical Camp concluded on Saturday in the al-Zuhra district of Hodeida province. The event was organized by the Grameen Yemen Foundation in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment and its local office.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp operated for six days, providing eye examinations and treatments to nearly 1,000 patients from al-Ma'ars and surrounding areas. Camp director Abdelkhalik al-Khamisi reported that 346 surgeries were conducted, including cataract removals and lens implants, under the supervision of specialist ophthalmologists. In addition, free medications were distributed to the patients.
The camp witnessed high public turnout and is part of ongoing humanitarian and medical programs. These initiatives aim to alleviate patient suffering and improve health conditions in the region.
