Hodeida: The Colleges of Medicine and Surgery, Medical Sciences, Physical and Sports Education, Computer Science and Engineering, and Arts, along with the Continuing Education and Information Technology Systems Centers at Hodeida University on Monday held a speech and cultural event to commemorate the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Province Undersecretary for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi emphasized the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday and drawing lessons from the life and approach of Prophet Muhammad. He highlighted the Prophet's wisdom, patience, courage, and perseverance as virtues that can enhance awareness and insight among younger generations. Halisi praised the university's efforts in organizing religious and cultural activities, noting that these commemorations reflect the Yemeni people's deep connection with the Prophet and their adherence to the values he espoused.
University Rector Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahdal underscored the significance of the event, encouraging expressions of joy through institutional decorations and activities that promote understanding of the Prophet's life. He stated that the occasion is an opportunity to reconnect with the Holy Quran, follow the Prophet's example, and translate Prophetic values into practical conduct in life. Dr. Al-Ahdal also called for widespread participation in the central event on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal, marking the Prophet's birthday.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Zura'i, Assistant Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, highlighted the importance of drawing upon the Prophet's values and teachings to guide the nation in overcoming challenges. He pointed out that commemorating the Prophet's birthday strengthens awareness of his status and helps protect younger generations from misinformation. Dr. Al-Zura'i also stressed the need to uphold Islamic identity and values in the face of regional challenges.
Mohammed Al-Mashraqi, Student Affairs Officer at the University Student Forum, noted that the Prophet's birthday offers a chance to revive his teachings and ethics in society. He emphasized the importance of following the Prophet's example in building individuals and society, promoting values of knowledge, work, and responsibility to contribute to national progress.
Dr. Abdulaziz Baalawi, Head of the Nursing Department at the College of Medical Sciences, remarked that commemorating the Prophet's birthday embodies compassion and social solidarity. He called for lessons from the Prophet's life to be applied in confronting disbelief and arrogance.
