Hodeidah: Hodeidah Governor Abdullah 'Atifi today launched a new campaign to boycott American and Israeli goods and products in the city's markets. The initiative, implemented by the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, comes as part of ongoing activities aimed at supporting the Palestinian people and raising awareness of the importance of economic boycott.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, attended by Deputy Governor for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi, Governor 'Atifi affirmed that the campaign aligns with the Yemeni people's steadfast position on the Palestinian cause and reflects popular rejection of all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity and its supporters. He stressed that boycotting such products is an effective weapon to resist the aggression and blockade imposed on the Palestinian people.

He noted that the people of the governorate are at the forefront of the national stance in support of the nation's causes - particularly the Palestinian cause, which lies at the core of the struggle against global arrogance. He emphasized that boycotting the enemy's products is a religious, humanitarian, and moral duty.

Governor 'Atifi explained that this initiative comes amid the ongoing crimes committed by the Zionist entity against civilians in Gaza and the shameful silence of the international community. He added that the Yemeni people, through their free and principled positions, reaffirm their commitment to supporting the oppressed, and that the boycott serves as a powerful message reflecting the will of peoples to resist domination and economic hegemony.

For his part, Deputy Governor Halisi stated that the campaign reflects the growing public and official awareness of the boycott's importance as both a national and religious duty in confronting the Zionist project. He noted that the people of Hodeidah will continue to engage in all activities expressing solidarity with Palestine, the central cause of the Muslim nation.

Meanwhile, Director of the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Saleh 'Atifi, explained that the campaign includes field awareness programs and the distribution of posters in markets and shops highlighting the importance of the boycott and listing the products subject to it.

He affirmed ongoing efforts to expand the campaign across all districts to strengthen community awareness and reinforce public resilience against cultural and economic invasion. The office, he said, has developed a comprehensive plan for implementation, including monitoring markets and ensuring that traders refrain from displaying or selling boycotted products.

The director added that the campaign will be accompanied by media and awareness activities to introduce consumers to local alternatives and national products and to encourage their purchase. He stressed that the boycott is a 'culture of resistance' that must be embedded in public consciousness to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and weaken the economy of aggression.
