Hodeidah: Local authorities and the Mobilization Department in Hodeidah have initiated activities commemorating the annual anniversary of Imam Zaid's martyrdom, under the theme "Insight and Jihad."
According to Yemen News Agency, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri highlighted the significance of observing this occasion to learn from Imam Zaid's life. He emphasized Imam Zaid's revolution as crucial for correcting the nation's path and confronting tyranny. Al-Bishri stressed the importance of maintaining principles and culture to address current threats, advocating for the principle of "enjoining good and forbidding evil" as vital to achieving dignity, independence, and resilience for the Yemeni people.
The event, which saw participation from Deputy Governors Mohammed Hulaisi and Ali Kabari, included remarks from Guidance Sector official Abdulrahman Al-Wurfi. Al-Wurfi stated that Imam Zaid's life was a testament to sacrifice and devotion in upholding truth and highlighted the revolution's connection to the Holy Qur'an. He noted that commemorating the occasion enhances public awareness, reinforces adherence to principles, and mobilizes support for ongoing efforts.
Scholars Unit official Sheikh Ali Soumal discussed Imam Zaid's scholarly and jurisprudential contributions, portraying him as a scholar who combined knowledge with action. Soumal urged scholars, preachers, and intellectuals to promote Imam Zaid's values, strengthen social unity, and address current challenges.
Allama Ali Hussein Al-Hadi, representing the Scholars Authority, remarked on Imam Zaid's revolution as a pursuit of truth, justice, and equality, describing the Zaidi approach as a guide for resisting oppression. He called for the anniversary to be a time of reinforcing solidarity, supporting efforts with resources, and following Imam Zaid's example of sacrifice in defense of the homeland and national sovereignty.
