Hodeidah: Hodeida University and its Student Forum organized protest rallies on Wednesday condemning repeated insults to the Quran and the burning of copies, which participants said target Islamic sanctities and religious identity.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rallies took place across several university faculties and centers, drawing participation from faculty members, employees, and students. Participants carried copies of the Quran and banners denouncing the incidents.
University Rector Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahdal emphasized the importance of educational institutions in promoting Quranic awareness and reinforcing religious identity among younger generations.
A statement released during the rallies called for increased awareness and educational efforts to counter campaigns against Islam and maintain the community's connection to the Quran and Islamic values.
