Jerusalem: Hundreds of Zionist settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque from Mughrabi Gate on Monday, under heavy protection from Israeli forces, as part of the so-called "Rosh Hashanah" celebrations. The Islamic Endowments Department reported that approximately 300 settlers conducted provocative tours of the mosque's courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, including blowing the shofar, singing, and clapping.
According to Yemen News Agency, this was amidst tight military measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the entrances to the Old City. Since the early hours of the morning, Israeli forces have tightened their security measures in Jerusalem, setting up military checkpoints and imposing strict restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshippers.
This incursion comes in response to calls by extremist settler groups, including the "Pedenu" organization, to mobilize the largest possible number of intruders between September 22 and 24, in an attempt to impose a new Judaization reality within Al-Aqsa Mosque. Al-Aqsa Mosque witnesses daily incursions by settlers under the protection of Israeli police, in an effort to impose a temporal and spatial division of the Noble Sanctuary.
