Islamabad: A training course aimed at enhancing the capacities of executive directors in research fundamentals and development project management was concluded in Ibb governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the course was organized by Bunyan Development Foundation in coordination with the Agricultural Cooperative Union and supported by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Units in the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, and Dhale'. Implemented by the Bunyan Academy for Qualification and Training over a two-week period as part of the Cooperative Associations Program, the course targeted 17 executive directors from cooperative associations in the three governorates.
Participants received training in conducting current situation assessments, cooperative work policies, and development project management, with the aim of improving institutional performance and advancing agricultural and community initiatives. At the closing ceremony, Ibb governor Abdulwahid Salah stressed the important role played by cooperative associations in supporting agricultural development and strengthening food security efforts.
He noted that the success of development projects depends on the availability of qualified personnel capable of sound planning and efficient resource management. The governor explained that executive directors serve as a vital link between farmers' needs and supporting entities, which requires them to work with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative while identifying development priorities based on the actual needs of local communities.
Salah emphasized the importance of qualifying administrative and technical bodies within cooperative associations to improve institutional performance and unify efforts in support of sustainable local development, affirming that cooperative work represents a key foundation for advancing the agricultural sector and improving productivity. He added that the current stage requires strengthening the culture of collective work and shifting from individual efforts toward organized initiatives based on planning and community partnership, enabling cooperative associations to implement quality projects that contribute to rural development and improve farmers' economic conditions.
The governor urged participants to translate the knowledge and expertise they acquired during the course into practical programs and projects that serve local communities and encourage agricultural and productive initiatives, thereby enhancing opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency and sustainable development. At the conclusion of the course, certificates of appreciation were distributed to participants in the presence of Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region Brig. Gen. Mohammed al-Khaled, Director of the General Book Authority Office in the governorate Radman al-Adib, Deputy Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit Fadl al-Sabahi, Head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch Amjad Liydan, coordinators of Bonyan Development Foundation branches in Ibb and Taiz Mansour Ghadeer and Iyad Aouhaj, and the foundation's Training Officer Abdullah Fadhail.
