Amran: The Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahed Salah, inspected the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works at Ibb Sports Stadium, which hosts First Division football league matches.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Governor received an update from project supervisors on the completed technical works, which include improvements to the pitch surface, installation of seating in the stands, and treatment of damage and distortions, along with general cleaning efforts.
Governor Salah emphasized the urgent need to fulfill essential requirements, including connecting the water network and installing iron fencing for sections damaged by strikes during the initial phase of the aggression. He also directed the trimming of natural grass, leveling and re-turfing the pitch, and removing debris to enhance the stadium’s overall appearance and create a suitable sporting environment for youth.
Reaffirming the local leadership’s commitment to supporting the youth and sports sector, Salah stressed the importance of focusing on sports infrastructure. He highlighted the need to complete rehabilitation works promptly and in accordance with the required specifications.
The Governor commended the youth and community initiatives involved in cleaning campaigns and preparing the stadium, describing them as a positive model reflecting a sense of responsibility and belonging among the province’s youth. Salah viewed the stadium’s rehabilitation as a crucial step towards reviving sporting activity in Ibb and restoring its status as a prominent sports destination. He underscored the ongoing cooperation between the local authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to provide necessary support for the success of development efforts.
