Sana'a: Ibb governorate held on Sunday central and district-level events to mark Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), with wide participation from local authorities, scholars, academics, and residents.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Abdulwahid Salah highlighted the connection between the Karbala tragedy and the suffering in Gaza, affirming Yemenis' commitment to Imam Hussein's path in confronting tyranny and supporting Palestine.
Speakers at the event emphasized the lessons of Karbala, the injustice Imam Hussein faced, and the need to resist oppression in all its forms. They referred to Ashura as a day of sacrifice, truth, and resistance to global arrogance.
The events included speeches, religious poetry, and chants, stressing the importance of faith identity and standing with the oppressed.
