Sana'a: Secretary-General of the Local Council in Ibb, Ameen al-Warafi, inspected the progress of two road paving projects in the al-Dhihar district aimed at improving infrastructure and easing mobility.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Ameen al-Warafi, along with Technical Committee Head Essam al-Makhadari and District Director Fadl Zaid, reviewed the progress of the concrete paving project on the Qahrah Tala'at Waraf - Manzil al-Qasid road, which has reached 38 percent completion. This project, costing over 46 million Yemeni rials, is funded through community initiatives, with 32 percent contributed by the community and 68 percent by local authorities. It covers a length of 320 meters with a total area of 2,240 square meters and a width of seven meters.
The officials also inspected the third phase of the rehabilitation and concrete paving project on the Qahzah Yafa'ah - Waraf road, which has reached 74 percent completion. This project, nearing a cost of 90 million rials, is funded by local authorities and implemented by the Executive Unit for Road Projects, covering 535 meters in length and seven meters in width.
Al-Warafi stated that these projects are part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and facilitate movement, especially in densely populated areas, praising community engagement in supporting development initiatives. He emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the community and local authorities to accelerate project completion and meet public needs, reiterating the leadership's commitment to supporting such initiatives.
Essam al-Makhadari confirmed that work is progressing according to approved technical plans and engineering standards, with continuous supervision to ensure quality implementation. Meanwhile, Fadl Zaid commended the level of progress and community contribution, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing local development projects.
