Sana'a: An expanded meeting, chaired by the Chairman of Ibb University, Dr. Nasr al-Hujaili, discussed today the progress of the committees tasked with preparing and updating the university's five-year strategic plan for the years 2026-2030. The meeting was attended by key university figures, including Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah al-Fallahi; for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Fouad Hassan; and for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abu Lahoum; as well as the University Secretary General, Abdulmalik al-Saqqaf.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed the level of achievement in the work of the committees responsible for updating the strategic plan. It also focused on the mechanisms for completing and filling out the internal and external strategic environmental assessment forms, ensuring the plan's preparation is completed within the specified timeframe. In the presence of deans of colleges and centers, directors general, specialists, and relevant university stakeholders, the mechanisms for conducting the internal and external strategic environmental assessment were reviewed.
This process is based on sound scientific and methodological principles, contributing to realistic results and practical recommendations that can be used to develop a strategic plan. This plan will respond to the requirements of institutional and academic development and enhance the university's ability to keep pace with future changes and challenges. The university president emphasized the importance of unifying efforts among the various academic and administrative units to complete the strategic plan according to a collaborative vision.
The vision encompasses current challenges and capitalizes on available opportunities, ensuring the development of an actionable strategic document linked to clear performance indicators that contribute to achieving sustainable institutional development. Dr. Al-Hujaili considered optimal investment in human resources to be the cornerstone of improving academic and administrative performance and achieving the university's goals in education, scientific research, and community service.
He indicated that the university is committed to developing its infrastructure, technology, and laboratories, and strengthening its internal resources. This will enable it to enhance the quality of the educational and research process and provide an academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation, in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation. Dr. Al-Hujaili stated that updating the strategic plan represents a pivotal moment in the university's journey, and an opportunity to evaluate past experiences and build upon achieved successes, thereby enhancing the university's academic standing and enabling it to perform its scientific and national mission efficiently and effectively.
