Ibb University Hosts Cultural Seminar to Honor Wilayah Day

Sana'a: Ibb University organized a cultural seminar on Sunday to mark the occasion of Wilayah Day under the title, 'Loyalty to Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as a Manifestation of the Perfection of Religion and the Completion of Divine Blessings.' At the opening of the seminar, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Fallahi, emphasized that Imam Ali (peace be upon him) represents a comprehensive model of faith, humanitarian values, and leadership. He noted that Imam Ali's life and virtues embody the true meanings of the Prophet's teachings, which contributed to shaping an exceptional personality that carried forward the message of Islam and its noble values.

According to Yemen News Agency, Director General of the Provincial Grievances Committee, Yahya Al-Qasimi, reviewed key stages of Imam Ali's life and his status in Islamic history in the paper he presented. He highlighted the Imam's distinguished qualities and positions that reflected courage, wisdom, justice, and adherence to religious principles, stressing the importance of drawing lessons from these exemplary models in confronting contemporary challenges.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Hamoud Shatan, addressed in his paper the concept of loyalty to Imam Ali and its religious and intellectual dimensions, as well as its role in strengthening the unity and cohesion of the Muslim nation. He underscored the urgent need to promote awareness of the values and principles represented by Imam Ali in light of the challenges and threats targeting the nation's identity and constants.

Dr. Mohammed Zaid also delivered a presentation on the concept of Wilayah and its significance as derived from the Holy Qur'an and the Prophetic Sunnah. He explained that Wilayah represents a connection to faith-based and moral values that contribute to building both the individual, society and to strengthening the foundations of the nation's civilizational advancement.

The seminar featured visual presentations prepared by the General Administration of Student Activities and Youth Welfare, highlighting aspects of Imam Ali's life, his enduring legacy, and his role in reinforcing the values of dignity, honor, and adherence to authentic Islamic principles.

The seminar's recommendations emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to commemorate Imam Ali (peace be upon him), introduce his virtues, exemplary positions, and instill the values of Wilayah within societal awareness as a fundamental source for building a faithful personality and strengthening the nation's spiritual identity.

The recommendations also stressed the need to direct academic and research efforts toward studying the religious and intellectual objectives of Wilayah and highlighting its impact on human development and the promotion of social awareness, thereby contributing to the preparation of generations more deeply connected to their religious and national values and principles.

Furthermore, participants called for raising public awareness among all segments of society regarding the dangers of 'soft war' and the methods used to target the cultural and intellectual identity of the nation. They also emphasized strengthening attachment to exemplary Islamic figures who serve as beacons of guidance and sources of constructive values for generations under all circumstances and stages of life.
