Sana'a: The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in cooperation with the Development and Quality Assurance Center at Ibb University, has launched a training program on modern teaching and assessment strategies for approximately 50 faculty members and teaching assistants.
According to Yemen News Agency, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al-Fallahi emphasized that this initiative is part of the university's commitment to enhance the capabilities of its faculty members. The program aims to enable participants to adopt modern teaching strategies and assessment methods in alignment with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, Advisor to the University President for Quality and Academic Accreditation, highlighted the necessity of staying abreast of advancements in teaching and assessment techniques. He noted that such developments are crucial for improving the quality of higher education and equipping graduates to meet development priorities and labor market needs.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Qawas, Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, and Dr. Bashir Al-Amoui, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, explained the program's objectives and training modules. The sessions are designed to enhance participants' skills in applying modern teaching strategies, utilizing effective assessment methods, and designing examinations based on scientific principles that reflect learning outcomes, quality standards, and course requirements.
The program, attended by Vice Rector for Student Affairs Dr. Ahmed Abu Lahoum and Assistant Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Al-Azzi Al-Aqab, comprises lectures and practical workshops on modern teaching and assessment approaches. Participants are engaged in hands-on exercises and activities aimed at integrating contemporary methods into the university environment, thereby strengthening instructional skills and improving academic performance.
