Sana'a: An expanded meeting was held at Ibb University, chaired by University Rector Dr. Nasr Al-Hujaili, to discuss arrangements for launching the university's five-year strategic plan (2026-2030). Attended by Vice Rectors Dr. Abdullah Al-Falahi and Dr. Ahmed Abu Lahoum, and University Secretary-General Abdulmalik Al-Saqqaf, the meeting reviewed the final arrangements for the strategy's launch. It examined findings from field committees tasked with surveying and analyzing data on the university's current status, opportunities, and challenges, aiming to define priorities and optimize strengths such as qualified staff and infrastructure.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting also included the University Rector's advisors for Quality and Academic Accreditation, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub and Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Faqih, as well as other key university officials. They discussed successes in interconnecting electronic systems and ongoing steps to establish an electronic system for the Development and Quality Assurance Center. This system is designed to facilitate monitoring the strategic plan's implementation, evaluating progress, identifying strengths and shortcomings, and adopting corrective measures.
Dr. Al-Hujaili emphasized that the strategic plan aligns with the university's drive to enhance academic and administrative performance and meet the demands of higher education, scientific research, and community service. He highlighted the new strategy as a framework to unify the university's efforts and translate goals into actionable programs and projects. He stressed involving all stakeholders in implementing the strategy and monitoring performance indicators to achieve targeted outcomes and elevate service standards.
The Rector noted that the upcoming phase requires strengthening partnerships between the university and community institutions and expanding cooperation with supporting entities. This aims to bolster the university's role as a center of scientific expertise, contributing to studies, solutions, and consultations that address national needs.
He pointed out that the strategy was developed using a methodology involving data collection, situational analysis, and identifying strengths, areas for improvement, and challenges. This approach ensures the strategy aligns with the university and community needs while allowing for continuous evaluation. Success depends on translating the strategy's goals into clear practices and programs, defined responsibilities, and measurable performance indicators.
Participants underscored the importance of finalizing technical and organizational arrangements to launch the strategy. They emphasized integrated efforts among committees and entities to ensure a smooth transition from planning to implementation, guided by clear priorities, timelines, and performance indicators.
The meeting was attended by committee heads and members tasked with updating the university's strategy, Assistant Secretary-General Nabil Al-Warafi, Head of the Media Department Hashim Al-Alawi, and other university officials and stakeholders.
