Sana'a: The Board of Directors of the Local Water and Sanitation Authority in Ibb province, under the leadership of governor Abdulwahid Salah, has approved the estimated budget and investment program for the year 2026, extending to its branches.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on strategic and emergency projects crucial for maintaining uninterrupted water services. These projects include the expansion of water networks, procurement of necessary service vehicles, and maintenance of existing facilities and wells. Additionally, the board emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Public Works Office to address issues related to water leakage and sewage, with specialized engineers to manage repairs.
The officials also discussed the completion of the wastewater treatment plant in al-Qaedah city. They highlighted the necessity of collecting outstanding dues from governmental offices and protecting water basins from over-extraction and pollution.
Governor Salah reiterated the local authority's commitment to supporting these initiatives, underscoring the need to improve service quality, widen water coverage, and enhance revenue collection to support ongoing and future projects.
