Ibb Workshop Equips Facilitators for Agricultural Development

Sana'a: A training workshop for production group facilitators concluded on Thursday in Yarim District, Ibb Governorate, organized by the district's multi-purpose agricultural cooperative association as part of the Value Chain Development Project.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop trained 19 facilitators to lead and support production groups, strengthen their skills in organizing collective work, apply community facilitation methods to improve production quality, enhance marketing opportunities, and add value to agricultural crops.

District Director Mohammed Al-Khaled highlighted the importance of activating production groups in achieving sustainable agricultural development, praising the training program for its role in boosting production and improving the income of farming families. He urged participants to apply the knowledge and skills they gained to serve farmers.

Meanwhile, Program Coordinator Engineer Mansour Al-Hammadi, representing the General Directorate of Extension Programs and Activities at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, stressed the program's role in improving agricultural practices, increasing productivity, and strengthening the sustainability of value chains. He noted that the program is funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit in Ibb.

The workshop trainer explained the role of facilitators as a link between implementing agencies and farmers, stressing that the success of production groups depends on facilitators' ability to encourage farmers to develop their activities within agricultural value chains.
