Sana’a: The President of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities, Abdul Wahab Al-Mahdi, engaged in discussions with the Director of the Architectural Studies and Training Center, Engineer Sami Moheb El-Din, focusing on the progress of the center’s work programs and activities, alongside strategies for their enhancement and development.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included participation from Khaled Issa, Director of the Studies and Academic Cooperation Department, Samir Al-Shawafi from the Training Department, as well as the center’s staff and employees. They collectively reviewed the center’s training programs, which cover vital areas such as preservation, restoration, and maintenance of historical buildings. Other focal points include engineering programs, photography and documentation, occupational health and safety, and professional crafts such as carpentry, blacksmithing, and construction.
Abdul Wahab Al-Mahdi commended the steps taken towards developing and improving performance, emphasizing the significance of the center’s work and its role in enhancing its outputs. He highlighted the center’s contribution to the labor market by providing qualified cadres. Al-Mahdi also underscored the importance of the specialized services offered by the center, including studies, surveys of historical cities, documentation, and capacity building, activities it has been engaged in since its establishment in 1993.
