Inauguration of Al-Bisah Market Boosts Livestock and Agricultural Trade in Al-Hodeidah

Al-sukhnah: Al-Bisah Market for livestock and agricultural products was inaugurated on Thursday in Al-Sukhnah District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, as part of ongoing efforts to organize agricultural and livestock activities and improve marketing mechanisms for local products.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, Mohammed Al-Qahoum, described the market as a model of partnership between official authorities and the cooperative movement. He noted that it contributes to strengthening the role of cooperative associations in agricultural development and achieving self-sufficiency.

He highlighted the market's importance in revitalizing local economic activity and providing an organized environment for trading livestock and agricultural products, which helps improve farmers' incomes and enhance food security. He also praised the role of cooperative associations in supporting sustainable agricultural development in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.

For his part, the Chairman of Al-Sukhnah Agricultural Cooperative Association, Mohammed Ma'afa, explained that the establishment of the market comes within the priorities of the local authority to support farmers and livestock breeders, ease marketing burdens, and create an organized environment that contributes to price stability and stimulates local economic activity.

He added that the market will provide farmers with direct opportunities to display and sell their products without intermediaries, positively impacting income levels and adding value to agricultural and livestock production in the district.
