Inflation Rate in Sultanate of Oman Rises by 1.1 Percent

Muscat: The general consumer price index in the Sultanate of Oman rose by 1.1 percent in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2024, with the base year 2018. Average inflation also increased by 0.8 percent during the period from January to September 2025, according to data released by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

According to Yemen News Agency, the data showed that the average inflation rate for the miscellaneous personal goods and services group in Oman during the period from January to September 2025 reached approximately 6.4 percent. Prices for this group topped the list of groups with the highest increases, at 7.6 percent in September 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.

This increase was followed by the transportation group, which saw a rise of 4.5%, and the restaurants and hotels group, which increased by 2.6%. The health group recorded an increase of 0.8%, the clothing and footwear group by 0.4%, and the education group by 0.1%.

Conversely, the prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverages group saw a decrease of 0.5%, the culture and recreation group by 0.2%, and the furniture, household equipment, and maintenance group by 0.1%.

Meanwhile, the prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels groups, the communications group, and the tobacco group remained stable, with no significant changes.
