Sanaa: The Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the Capital Secretariat, Engineer Mohammed Mada'is, and the Director of Ma'in district, Abdulmalik Al Radhi, today inspected the progress of work on sewage projects in the southern Al Saninah neighborhood phase two and the southern Mazbah neighborhood.
According to Yemen News Agency, the inspection was also attended by the Director of the Fourth Water Region, Engineer Hassan Al Akimi, and the local council member in the district, Abdu Shalan. They reviewed the implementation of the second phase of the sewage project in the southern Al Saninah neighborhood, which costs 88 million and 760 thousand Yemeni riyals. This project is being executed by the Water Corporation, with 25 percent of the funding coming from the community and 75 percent from local sources, covering a length of 2,340 meters of sewage lines.
The officials commended the community's participation in the project, highlighting the cooperation and solidarity shown by the residents. They noted that such initiatives are a model of community responsibility, aiming to improve the general environment. The inspection was also attended by the Deputy Director of Community Initiatives in Ma'in district, Ahmed Al Shoukhi, the head of the beneficiaries committee in the neighborhood, Abdullah Al Hindi, and other social figures.
The inspection extended to the sewage project in the southern Mazbah neighborhood, funded by the Social Fund for Development at a cost of 168 thousand euros. Mada'is and Al Radhi assessed the progress of the project, which involves connecting sewage lines over a span of 3,700 meters as per approved technical specifications. They emphasized the significance of these projects in enhancing sanitation services and improving environmental conditions in the targeted neighborhoods.
