Sa’ada: The Executive Director of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development, Engineer Shihab Ahmed Al-Shami, conducted an inspection of the Atharib Barrier and Nakhla Dam projects in the districts of Haidan and Saqin in Sa’ada Province.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Shami reviewed the work completed on the Atharib Barrier project in Juma Al-Fadhil, Haidan district. The project, which was funded by the Central Interventions Unit and supported by a community contribution of 10,000 stones, cost more than 204 million and 338 thousand riyals. It boasts a storage capacity of 83 thousand and 925 cubic meters and benefits approximately five thousand people, achieving a completion rate of 100 percent.
In Saqin district, Al-Shami also evaluated the progress of the Nakhla Dam project. This project required an investment of 709 million and 551 thousand riyals and features a storage capacity of 585 thousand cubic meters with a height of 21 meters. It benefits around 20 thousand people and involved a community contribution of 60 percent.
The Director of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit commended the social figures who motivated citizens to contribute to projects with economic returns. These efforts are expected to enhance agricultural areas and local production, especially given Sa’ada province’s fertile soil and suitable climate for cultivating various grains, fruits, and vegetables.
Furthermore, he praised the project’s completion and the engineering work’s quality, which adhered to the project’s standards to ensure sustainability in the province’s water resources.
Abdulrab Al-Ansi, the representative of the Central Intervention Unit in Sa’ada province, confirmed the team’s dedication and high efficiency in implementing the two projects.
