Sanaa: The heads of the Planning and Development Committee and the Services Committee of the Local Council in the Capital Secretariat, Sharaf Al-Hadi and Adel Al-Aqrari, inspected the implementation of several educational projects in Al-Thawra and Azal districts, funded by the local authority, with a total value of 293 million Yemeni riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Hadi and Al-Aqrari reviewed the project to complete the construction of Al-Sammad Martyr School in Al-Thawra District, valued at 182 million riyals. The project includes concrete works, cladding, painting, tiling, installation of windows and doors, and finishing for 22 classrooms with accompanying facilities, with an overall completion rate of 70 percent.
They also inspected the progress of the project to complete the annex of Abdulilah Ghabash School in Azal District, valued at 81 million riyals, consisting of 18 classrooms, with a completion rate of 30 percent.
Additionally, the committee heads reviewed the progress of the emergency renovation projects at Al-Thawra Educational Complex and Azal Medical Complex, valued at 30 million riyals.
During the visits, they heard from Engineer Tariq Al-Shami, Director of Supervision of Local Authority Projects in the Works Sector in the Capital Secretariat, who provided clarifications on the progress and achievements in the construction, rehabilitation, and renovation of Al-Sammad and Ghabash schools, as well as the Al-Thawra Educational Complex and Azal Medical Complex.
During the inspections, Al-Hadi and Al-Aqrari emphasized the local authority's interest in supporting the education sector through funding and implementing projects that contribute to improving the educational process. They also highlighted the importance of these projects in completing, expanding, and renovating a number of government schools in the two districts, thereby enhancing the quality of educational outcomes.
