Inspection of Preparations for Yemeni National Honey Festival in Sana’a

Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries for the Marketing Sector, Mohsen Atif, inspected the ongoing preparations for the fourth edition of the Yemeni National Honey Festival.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Atif was accompanied by the head of the festival's preparatory committee and agricultural sector official in the capital, Mohammed Hajr, the Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit, Abdullah Sharafeddin, and the Chairman of Al-Munira Beekeepers Association, Youssef Al-Qadimi. Atif emphasized the leadership's commitment to supporting local production, beekeepers, related associations, and promoting successful branding models. He urged the acceleration of preparations to ensure the festival's success and the fulfillment of its objectives.

Hajr highlighted that the six-day festival, organized by the Capital Secretariat, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, alongside the agricultural sector and the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects Financing Unit, serves as a community-based marketing platform. It aims to promote Yemeni honey, revive its reputation, and support Yemeni brands on a global scale.

The Director of the Projects Financing Unit noted that the festival will feature scientific and cultural sessions and seminars on honey production, led by experts and researchers. He called on media outlets to actively participate in the festival's activities, showcasing Yemeni honey and its products both locally and internationally.

Al-Qadimi underscored the festival's significance as a promotional tool for Yemeni honey. He remarked that honey production is a historical economic heritage for Yemen, serving as a key agricultural activity and an important source of income for many citizens.
