Inspection of Rainwater Drainage and Road Leveling in Bani al-Harith District Through Community Initiative

Sana'a: The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, along with the First Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat, Khaled al-Madani, inspected today the ongoing implementation of the project to complete the rainwater drainage channel and level a number of streets in Bani al-Harith District, with a total cost of 406 million riyals, carried out under a community initiative.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative, executed by the Yemen al-Saeed Foundation for Community Initiatives, is funded with 100 million riyals by the local authority and 306 million riyals contributed by the company. It includes the completion of the rainwater drainage channel along al-Bahth al-Janai Street and asphalt restoration for the channel route extending 1,800 meters.

Dr. Obad and al-Madani, accompanied by Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee Hamoud al-Naqeeb and District Director Hamad bin Rakan, listened to a briefing from the Director of Initiatives Projects at the Secretariat, Eng. Ahmed al-Mashreqi, on the progress of linking the drainage channel to the main system in the Daras area, in addition to surveying and leveling a number of main and secondary streets in the district.

The Mayor and the First Undersecretary praised the initiative carried out by the Yemen al-Saeed Foundation for Community Initiatives, calling on institutions and business leaders to adopt similar projects that serve the public.

They highlighted the importance of community initiatives in supporting local authority efforts to improve services and meet citizens' needs, commending the teams' work on completing the drainage channel and road leveling in Bani al-Harith District.

Additionally, the Mayor, the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, and the Undersecretary of the Secretariat for the Works and Projects Sector, Eng. Abdulkarim al-Houthi, inspected the progress of the paving and maintenance project for al-Muqaleh Street in al-Sabeen District, funded locally.
