Interior Ministry Team Defeats Civil Service, Advances to Semifinals of Ministries & Institutions Volleyball Championship

Sana'a: The Ministry of Interior team secured the first qualifying spot from Group B to the semifinals of the Volleyball Championship for ministries, institutions, and government bodies, organized by the Steering Committee of the Yemeni Volleyball Federation for the 'Martyrs of the Government of Change and Construction Cup.'

According to Yemen News Agency, the Interior Ministry team booked its semifinal ticket after defeating the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Development team 2-0 in today's match, held at the Sam Recreational Club volleyball court in Sana'a, as part of the fourth and penultimate round of Group B.

With this result, the Interior team raised its tally to 12 points, topping the group with a four-point lead over its closest competitor, and securing semifinal qualification one round before the group stage ends. Meanwhile, the Civil Service team dropped to third place with 7 points.

In another Group B match of the fourth round, the Tax and Customs Authority team strengthened its chances of claiming the second semifinal spot after defeating the Ministry of Information team 2-0. The Tax and Customs Authority team increased its points to eight, advancing to second place, while the Ministry of Information remained at the bottom of the group with zero points.

In the third match of the day, the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water team achieved a valuable 2-0 victory over the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment team, raising its tally to six points and moving into fourth place. The Ministry of Economy followed in fifth place with three points.

Today's matches were officiated by: Ahmed Al-Jabboubi, Suhaib Al-Adimi, Iskandar Al-Absi, and Mohammed Al-Dhafri. Group A competitions conclude tomorrow, Monday, with three matches to determine the second qualifier for the semifinals after the Ministry of Finance team secured the first spot.
