Sanaa: The General Directorate of Human Resources at the Ministry of Interior held a commemorative event Wednesday to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to Yemen News Agency, the ceremony was attended by Interior Minister's Advisor Maj. Gen. Mohsen Hajar, Undersecretary for Human and Financial Resources Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Sayfi, Head of the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority Brig. Gen. Hussein Aziz, and Director General of Training and Qualification Maj. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Madani. Member of the Supreme Board of Yemen Scholars, scholar Fuad Naji, emphasized that the Yemeni people's nationwide celebrations reflect an awakening and a return to the Prophet's path, contrasting meaningful commemoration with wasteful spending on trivial occasions. He stated that Yemen's stance in support of Palestine and Gaza embodies the return to the Prophet's message.
Brig. Gen. Adnan Qaflah, Director General of Human Resources, noted that commemorating the Prophet's birth is an act of obedience to God and a reaffirmation of love and loyalty to His Messenger. He explained that such celebrations anger those who seek to separate the nation from its faith, identity, and leadership, affirming that honoring the Prophet's birthday is synonymous with honoring the values and principles he brought to humanity. Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Hassan Al-Hadi, Director General of Public Relations and Moral Guidance, expressed Yemenis' pride in leading the Muslim world in commemorating this occasion and renewing their pledge of loyalty and support to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He further mentioned that marking the anniversary amid current challenges safeguards Islamic values and the nation's identity against external attempts to divert Muslims from their faith. He pointed out that Yemen's strong adherence to the Prophet protects the country from foreign targeting. The event, also attended by directors of Security Guard Units, Financial Affairs, Projects, and Police Hospital, featured poetry, chants, and theatrical performances that reflected the spiritual significance of the occasion.
