Mahweet: Representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in Mahweet governorate, Engineer Mukhtar al-Turki, conducted an inspection visit on Monday to monitor the progress of several community initiative projects underway in al-Rujum district, supported by the Unit.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, al-Turki reviewed the ongoing implementation of phases two, three, and four of the Jabal Ahnam Road paving project. The total cost of the project is 46,171,000 Yemeni Y.R, with 31,361,000 Y.R contributed by the local community and the remaining 14,810,000 Y.R provided by the Interventions Unit.
The tour also included phase five of the Beit Abu Zaid Road paving project, costing 16,844,000 Y.R, and phase four of the Aqabat al-Sadd Road, which costs 10,546,000 Y.R. Of the latter project's cost, 7,569,000 Y.R were covered by community contributions, and 2,977,000 Y.R by the Unit.
Engineer al-Turki also inspected the completion of Al-Noor School in Jabal Ahnam, implemented as part of the Unit's efforts to enhance educational infrastructure across the governorate. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives in strengthening community participation in development and construction efforts, particularly in improving rural road networks.
Al-Turki pointed out that the projects reflect strong coordination between official authorities and local communities to enhance service delivery. This plays a vital role in alleviating the suffering of residents, especially in remote areas lacking basic services.
He praised the level of accomplishment in the ongoing projects and commended the community's active involvement in their implementation. Al-Turki also urged stakeholders to intensify efforts and enhance cooperation to ensure the timely completion of all initiatives under the Unit's support framework across the governorate's districts.
