Hodeida: The General Investment Authority and local authorities in Hodeida province have signed a cooperation memorandum to initiate the establishment of the governorate's first agricultural investment zone.
According to Yemen News Agency, the agreement was signed by Investment Authority head Mohammed Eshaq and Hodeidah Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Nahari. It aims to coordinate efforts to define the zone's geographic scope and develop technical and engineering plans based on modern agricultural systems and irrigation technologies.
The initiative aligns with national economic priorities to strengthen the agricultural sector, boost local production, and reduce import dependence. It also includes preparing a database of investment opportunities, developing a comprehensive investment guide, and launching promotional campaigns to attract investors.
Officials described the project as a strategic step toward enhancing food security and creating job opportunities, with commitments to provide logistical support, infrastructure development, and streamlined procedures through integrated digital platforms.
