Tehran: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a stern condemnation regarding the recent Zionist aggression targeting Sana'a International Airport, which resulted in the destruction of a Yemenia passenger plane. The Ministry described the attack as a "new indication of the Zionist regime's barbarism and hostility toward the Muslim Yemeni people and the region."
According to Yemen News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei expressed that the Zionist regime's aggression, especially during the Hajj season, was aimed at preventing Yemeni pilgrims from reaching the holy lands and participating in the Hajj rituals, labeling it a major crime. Baghaei urged immediate and serious action from international organizations, notably the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to address the situation.
The spokesman highlighted the Zionist regime's repeated assaults on Yemen's economic infrastructure and civilian facilities, including ports, airports, and food warehouses. He characterized these attacks as clear examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Baghaei further asserted that such aggression towards the Muslim peoples of West Asia exemplifies the Zionist regime's structural and fundamental disconnection from the region's populations, as well as its leaders' attempts to instigate wars and insecurity both regionally and globally.
He emphasized the legal and moral responsibility of countries worldwide to confront the Zionist entity's breaches of law and its crimes in occupied Palestine and other regional areas. Baghaei also pointed out that the Zionist entity's continued impunity, stemming from the United Nations Security Council's inaction and comprehensive American support, has had irreversible consequences on the UN Charter-based system, posing an unprecedented threat to international peace and security and necessitating urgent action from the global community.
