Sana'a: Iraq's Oil Minister, Bassem Khudair, announced on Friday that the country's oil exports have reached an average of 2 million barrels per day since the beginning of August. The statement highlights a significant milestone for Iraq's oil industry as it positions itself to meet both domestic and international demand.
According to Yemen News Agency, the minister also revealed the inauguration of a central gas processing plant at the Faihaa oil field. This facility boasts a capacity of 130 million standard cubic feet per day, complementing the field's oil production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day. Iraq's strategic focus includes achieving gas self-sufficiency, enhancing oil and gas production, and bolstering infrastructure and employment opportunities in oil-producing regions.
In July, Iraq exported approximately 49 million barrels, with oil exports constituting over 85% of the national budget. The government is actively pursuing the expansion of export routes through Turkey's Ceyhan port and Syria's Baniyas port, alongside the Strait of Hormuz, to further strengthen its oil export capabilities.
