Ramallah: The Israeli occupation has intensified its aggression on the northern West Bank, particularly in the governorates of Jenin and Tulkarm, extending its operations to Tubas, Nablus, and Al-Quds. This escalation has persisted for over a month amidst international silence. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 60 Palestinians, the displacement of tens of thousands, and extensive destruction of property and infrastructure.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diabouh, highlighted the severe repercussions of the Israeli aggression in the West Bank. Addressing a seminar organized by the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Diabouh emphasized the unity of the Palestinian people and Arab solidarity in countering Israeli plans for displacement. He condemned the occupation authorities for their illegal practices, including land seizures, settlement building, house demolitions, and allowing settlers to attack Palestinian citizens.
Al-Loh, in his statements, called upon the international community to uphold its responsibilities and intervene to halt what he described as a genocidal war threatening the existence of Palestinians. He urged for measures enabling Palestinians to live a normal life in their homeland, in accordance with international legitimacy.
The West Bank, including occupied Al-Quds, has been witnessing daily raids and arrests by occupation forces and settlers, who also target Palestinian homes and camps for demolition. This intensification follows a prolonged 15-month aggression in Gaza, which displaced its residents before similar tactics were employed in the West Bank.
The aggression on Jenin city and its camp continues into its 37th day, with significant casualties and arrests, while Tulkarm and its camp have been under siege for over 31 days. In Nur Shams camp, residents have been notified of impending demolitions, adding to the destruction of over 26 buildings in recent days.
The Israeli military operation, termed “Iron Wall,” has imposed security cordons around key areas in the West Bank. The occupation’s aggressive expansion into Tubas and Nablus is marked by large-scale military presence and infrastructure destruction, with analysts suggesting preparations for annexing the entire West Bank.
The operation has led to the burning and demolition of numerous houses, particularly in Jenin camp, causing massive displacement reminiscent of the second Palestinian Intifada. The Palestinian Authority warns of the operation’s aim to displace Palestinians and expand settlements, a strategy likened to historical events in Gaza.
Analysts argue that this aggressive campaign seeks to eliminate the Palestinian cause and establish military control over the West Bank, compensating for setbacks in Gaza. The Palestinian leadership and the Arab and Islamic communities are urged to prepare for potential developments, taking Israel’s actions and statements seriously.
