Jordanian King Abdullah II warned on Wednesday that the ongoing war will keep the region tense, stressing the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon as a first step towards peace. The Jordanian Royal Court in a statement quoted King Abdullah, during a reception of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi who is visiting Jordan as part of a regional tour, as stressing the need for regional de-escalation. King Abdullah expressed Jordan's keenness to exert all efforts with "partner states" to restore stability in the region and create a political horizon for the Palestinian issue, the statement added. The King highlighted the importance of boosting the humanitarian response in Gaza, as well as ensuring the continued flow of aid in order to mitigate the humanitarian catastrophe.
