Mahweet: Next Saturday, the Health Care Association for affected societies will inaugurate the 68th medical camp for ophthalmology at Khamis Bani Saad Hospital in Mahweet Governorate. The event is funded by the Public Authority for Zakat and coincides with the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp will be held from 29 Safar to 6 Rabi' al-Awwal 1447 AH, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Environment and its office in the governorate. The initiative aims to offer inspection services and perform 200 operations, including treatments for cataracts, conjunctiva issues, and fatty bags in the eyelids in the Bani Saad district.
Hassan Tamam, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Public Authority for Zakat, said the camp is part of the authority's broader efforts to expand health projects that benefit the community and improve the lives of low-income patients. The camp is in line with directives from the leader of the revolution, the Supreme Political Council, and the Commission, focusing on providing medical aid to the poor and needy.
Dr. Nashwan Al-Atab, head of the Health Care Association, noted that the camp embodies the association's mission to promote societal solidarity and mercy, inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. He highlighted that the camp will conduct examinations and inspections in its initial days to identify patients who require surgical intervention and pre-operation checks.
Dr. Al-Atab also emphasized that the camp, marking the Prophet's birthday, aligns with directives from Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. The initiative stresses the importance of charitable, relief, and humanitarian activities and is part of a series of camps organized by the association.
