Khartoum: The Minister of Health in Khartoum State, Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, has confirmed that all epidemic diseases have been contained, with an abundant medicine supply sufficient for four months. He highlighted the stabilization of operations at dialysis centers following the maintenance of 67 centers in the state.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister stated the recovery of the health sector in the state, crediting the mobilization of national cadres during the Battle of Dignity. Over 173 health centers out of a total of 256 and 32 hospitals out of 56 have been rehabilitated. This comes after systematic vandalization by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which led to the displacement of healthcare staff.
The Minister announced the reoperation of Omdurman Hospital, now offering improved services with an added intensive care unit, central blood bank, and MRI capabilities. Additional hospitals, including Al-Naw, Al-Sarorab, Al-Gezira Islang, Al-Fath, Omdurman Maternity, and the Saudi, have also resumed operations.
In Bahri Locality, Haj Al-Safi and Ahmed Gasim Hospitals have been reoperated, while Al-Ban Jadeed Hospital in East Nile and Bashayir, along with the Turkish Hospital in South Khartoum, have been rehabilitated and are functional. Om Badda Hospital has also been restored and operational.
The Minister praised the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the Cabinet for their support of the Ministry and the state government, commending community participation. He also expressed the ministry's readiness to treat and bury bodies free of charge.
