Taiz: Majid Al-Barqani, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Taiz Governorate, and Mohammed Othman, Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities branch, inaugurated the 1447 AH academic year at Al-Amal Autism Center in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the inauguration, Al-Barqani and Othman, accompanied by Salalah District Director Mohammed Al-Hashma, Executive Director of the Center Amal Al-Saqqaf, and Center Director Ahd Shawal, received an explanation from the Center's Chairperson Samira Al-Basha regarding the center's sections and activities. These initiatives aim to support the abilities of children with autism and educate their families on effective interaction techniques.
Al-Basha expressed appreciation for the staff's efforts at Al-Amal Autism Center in serving children with autism and urged authorities, private sectors, organizations, institutions, and businessmen to contribute to the support and care of these children. She also reviewed the center's achievements since its establishment in 2009, emphasizing its success in aiding children with autism through scientifically based plans and prior experiences, aiming for their integration into society.
During the event, Al-Barqani, Othman, and Al-Hashma acknowledged the center's role in providing educational and rehabilitation services for individuals with special needs. The center has received around 90 children, offering services such as early intervention programs for ages 3 to 20, rehabilitation programs, multi-skill training, motor and cognitive development, self-care, social behavior modification, and crucially, social integration and community reintegration.
