Al-salif: The Yemen Red Crescent Society (YRCS) - Hodeidah Branch launched a cash assistance project targeting 1,200 of the most vulnerable families in the Al-Salif and Ras Issa districts. The project, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has a total value of 84 million Yemeni riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the current economic and living conditions, as part of the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Society. The branch's executive director, Jaber Al-Razhi, explained that the project is part of the Society's relief interventions designed to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable households and improve their living conditions.
Al-Razhi praised the humanitarian support provided by the ICRC and commended the efforts of the Society's volunteers in conducting registration, verification, and implementation processes to ensure that aid reaches eligible beneficiaries transparently and effectively. He affirmed that the YRCS Hodeidah Branch continues to carry out its humanitarian and relief programs in coordination with local authorities and international partners, contributing to alleviating the suffering of citizens and promoting community stability in the governorate.
For his part, the Coordinator of Disaster and Crisis Management at the Society, Mohammed Ayash, said the project is a continuation of ongoing relief programs implemented across several districts of Hodeidah. He noted that the cash assistance mechanism offers beneficiaries flexibility in meeting their essential needs according to their priorities. Ayash called on partners and donors to continue supporting sustainable humanitarian projects that help improve livelihoods and enhance community resilience.
