Sana'a: The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Ibb Governorate, Amin Al-Warafi, today inaugurated two significant projects aimed at providing relief to the region's most vulnerable populations. These projects involve the distribution of cash baskets to impoverished and needy families, as well as financial bonuses for individuals wounded and disabled due to the ongoing conflict. The initiatives are facilitated through the Agricultural Cooperative Credit Bank and involve its branches and agents across various districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the projects are spearheaded by the Governorate's Office of Endowments and Guidance and target 3,383 beneficiaries among the impoverished and underserved, with a total expenditure of 67,660,000 Yemeni Riyals. Additionally, 402 war-wounded and disabled individuals will receive financial bonuses amounting to 8,040,000 Yemeni Riyals.
During the launch event, Al-Warafi commended the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the Endowments Office during the holy month. He highlighted that these projects are in line with the directives from the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council to support the needy and provide care for the wounded and disabled, aiming to alleviate their hardships in the current climate.
Al-Warafi emphasized the importance of social solidarity, which is encouraged by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. He affirmed the local authority's commitment to supporting the Endowments Office in its efforts to care for the families of martyrs, the wounded, and disadvantaged households according to the principles of the endowment.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the wounded and martyrs in their defense of the homeland, their efforts to liberate occupied territories, and the protection of Islamic sanctities. Additionally, he urged business leaders and wealthy individuals to contribute to these care programs, which are designed to enhance the living standards of the targeted families, while appreciating the support provided by the Agricultural Cooperative Credit Bank in ensuring the smooth delivery of these benefits.
Deputy Director of the Governorate's Office of Endowments and Guidance, Saddam Al-Omisi, explained that the cash basket distribution is part of the office's Ramadan initiatives, highlighting its duty to allocate endowment funds as intended. He noted that the financial bonus project for war-wounded individuals underscores the office's dedication to those who have made significant sacrifices for the nation, with a commitment to continue these charitable projects year-round.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Al-Asad, Director of the Agricultural Cooperative Credit Bank in the governorate, confirmed that the bank has ensured all necessary measures are in place to deliver entitlements efficiently through its network, expressing gratitude for the collaboration with the Endowments Office in this endeavor.
