Sana'a: The Comprehensive Cleanliness Campaign 1/1 was launched on Thursday in Sana'a Governorate, covering streets, neighborhoods, alleys in the governorate center and the surrounding districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign, implemented by the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in the governorate, aims to remove waste from neighborhoods and streets across the governorate, district centers, and secondary cities, with the participation of district cleanliness offices, field teams, and awareness groups.
At the launch event in New Sana'a District, the Governorate's Undersecretaries for the Services Sector, Fares Al-Kahali, and for Technical Affairs, Engineer Saleh Al-Muntasir, emphasized the importance of the campaign, which coincides with the commemoration of Rajab Friday, the anniversary of Yemenis' entry into Islam. They underscored the need to strengthen public awareness of the importance of cleanliness as a faith-based behavior encouraged by Allah Almighty and His Noble Messenger.
They commended the efforts of the leadership and workers of the Cleanliness Fund and their engagement in ensuring the campaign's success, calling on community members to cooperate and participate to help create a clean, disease-free environment.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Cleanliness Fund in the governorate, Engineer Sami Al-Turabi, explained that the Fund's equipment, sanitation workers, and technical and administrative staff have been mobilized to implement the campaign, which will continue until its objectives are achieved. He noted the support of the governorate's leadership for the Fund's activities in service of the community and praised the efforts of all participants.
He urged unified official and community efforts to ensure the campaign's success and to spread awareness of the importance of cleanliness as a religious, social, and civilizational value, through sustained community participation in cleanliness campaigns and raising environmental awareness as an embodiment of the faith identity.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary Fares Al-Kahali, Executive Director Engineer Sami Al-Turabi, and Hamdan District Director Fahd Atiyah also launched the cleanliness campaign today in the districts of Hamdan, Sanhan, Bani Bahloul, and Bani Hashish.
During the launch, Atiyah and the directors of the Fund's branches in the districts praised the local authority leadership's attention to cleanliness and the Fund's commitment to maintaining the governorate's aesthetic appearance, affirming their determination to continue cleanliness and improvement efforts until they become a practical, everyday behavior for all members of society.
In Bani Matar District, Undersecretary Abdulghani Dawoud and District Director Yahya Al-Qanous launched the cleanliness and awareness campaign, explaining that it reflects the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership and embodies the faith identity through preserving cleanliness and the environment.
They highlighted the campaign's importance in enhancing community awareness of cleanliness and environmental protection, calling for attention to household and neighborhood cleanliness, and for refraining from littering streets and public places.
In turn, the Director of Media and Awareness at the Fund, Sadiq Al-Jamali, stated that the awareness campaign accompanying the comprehensive cleanliness campaign aims to raise citizens' awareness of the importance of cleanliness at home and in public spaces, through the distribution of brochures and awareness posters, as well as mobile public-address vehicles.
