Dhamar: The Governor of Dhamar, Mohammed Al-Bukhayti, initiated a series of creative, technical, educational, and scientific activities in the province's summer courses and schools. The launch took place at Al-Thalaya Model School for Science and Technology and Al-Shamsiya School.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Al-Bukhayti highlighted the significant turnout at these summer schools, emphasizing their role in teaching students the Holy Quran and the Arabic language, enhancing their awareness, and strengthening their faith identity. He also discussed the establishment of specialized schools to provide students with scientific education, including mathematics, using the facilities at Al-Thalaya Model School, such as laboratories and computer rooms.
Governor Al-Bukhayti encouraged parents to enroll their children in these summer programs to utilize the vacation period for educational enrichment. Meanwhile, Dhamar University's President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, mentioned that the university has developed a guide for Yemeni university specializations to aid summer school students in exploring their future professional opportunities.
Dr. Al-Haifi noted that there are 83 specializations available in Yemeni universities, with Dhamar University offering 53 of them. He asserted that the summer program would assist students in identifying suitable university paths and specializations.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor Mahmoud Al-Jabin and Head of the Education Sector, Mohammed Al-Hadi, who underscored the significance of summer courses as educational incubators that nurture and enlighten youth. They emphasized the courses' role in building a knowledgeable generation committed to Islamic values.
Additionally, Ahmed Al-Jarfi, Head of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Sector, introduced the "My Craft and My Profession" program. This initiative aims to instill the value of professional work, identify career inclinations early, connect education with the labor market, and familiarize students with vocational institutes.
