Sanaa: The office of the General Zakat Authority in the Capital Sahas has launched a field zakat awareness campaign in all districts of the Secretariat. According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness of the importance of the third pillar of Islam during the month of charity. It focuses on commercial shops and public markets through a field awareness program aimed at raising awareness among those obligated to pay zakat regarding the importance of fulfilling this obligation at its legally prescribed time. During the launch, the Director of the Zakat Office in the Secretariat, Mohammed Al-Alfi, emphasized the importance of the campaign in promoting awareness of the zakat obligation, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, when rewards are multiplied. He noted that the field successes and humanitarian projects implemented by the Authority are a result of the trust of zakat payers, whose contributions have enabled the Authority to deliver rights to beneficiaries through the eight legitimate channels of zakat expenditure. Meanwhile, the Director of the Awareness and Rehabilitation Department at the office, Sultan Al-Alawi, explained that the campaign will continue for five days across various districts of the Capital Secretariat, targeting a wide segment of zakat payers.
